Android 5.0 Lollipop Is Out. Lets See What We Got!

From the start of November, Google has been rolling out OTA updates for their Nexus range of devices. Its not just Nexus devices, but few other ones also will get a taste of the new 'Big' android update. The Nexus 6 and 9 came with Lollipop pre-installed, and updates are also available for the Nexus 4, 5, 7 (2012 and 2013) and 10. Motorola's also rolling out Android 5.0 to the Moto X (2014) Pure Edition and 2014 Moto G,and Nvidia SHEILD tablet too gets loliipop.

Lets Take A Look!

  • Really Impressive Design. White Gives it Elegeance
  • Notifications are looking much better
  • Supports Guests / Multiuser accounts
  • Great performance upgrade
  • New trusted face included smart lock

  • Few Bugs,I encountered frequent 'Google search crashed' message.

Total Experience:

  • Really smooth and innovative material design.White makes it looks elegant.

  • The new notification enabled lock screen is a great addition, It is okay for those people who has nos issues in other people seeing the details of their notification if they reach the lock screen. No need to worry u can disable or tweak it in settings.

  • Now coming to performance, I have to say it feels smoother than kitkat, apps jumping out as soon as u touch it, and I still have 500+mb ram to share. ART really make it fluidic.

  • The ripple effect when you touch an item on menu brings an eye-catching experience.

  • Battery stats will show you how much time you will get at current pace.

  • Clicking on android version from settings>about device, will get you to an android easter egg, a flappy bird inspired android jumping game, but the level of toughness is brought to a new level. My current high score is 2. I really don't care much.

  • At first I had a frequent crashing of Google search. But now its no longer bothering me.

  • The default Google gallery is replaced by photos, for which you have to enable Google+.
  • Battery backup is doing good so far, will do a complete check later.

  • One touch WiFi and Bluetooth buttons are available on the drop down notification bar. Which has saved a lot of precious time for me, rather than using a widget.

Unlike previous is updates, this one just takes it to a new level. The BIG Android update really deserves a good appreciation. Its a great blend of style and performance.

Samsung Showcases Two New Galaxy Tabs: Tab 3 311 & 211

Samsung electronics have brought two new tablets belonging to the Galaxy Tab 3 series into the market. The two new models are ; an 8 inch Galaxy tab 3 311 and a smaller 7 inch Galaxy tab 3 211.

Galaxy Tab 3 311

The galaxy tab 3 311 is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor and possess 1.5GB RAM for smoother performance and wide range of multitasking possibilities. It comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and a huge 16 GB internal memory for all your apps and multimedia. Great thinking from Samsung to provide with an additional 64GB MicroSD card slot , just in case.

Now about the Camera, the primary is a 5 Megapixel one which is really good for its price. It has a 1.9 Mega pixel secondary camera for video calling. All these are powered by a 4450mAh battery which can ensure a quality usage time and standby for your tab.

The 311 is only 7.4mm thick, that is really sleek and slim. Now there are two variants for 311;
The model with 3G will be priced at Rs. 25,725 and other with wifi only is priced at Rs. 21,945.

Galaxy Tab 3 211

This little brother of 311 is a meager 1 inch smaller, capped at 7 inch and is equipped with a 1.GHz Dual core processor. It has slightly lower RAM of 1 GB and reduced internal memory of 8 GB with a 32 GB MicroSD slot. This utilizes Jellybean 4.1 OS rather than the 4.2 one in 311. Smaller 3 MP camera which is not very impressive at its price. Also a 1.3 MP secondary camera. It houses a 4000mAh battery .

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 is priced at a reasonable amount of Rs. 17,745.

We will have to wait and see whether these two can make an impact in the market and favor hem against competition.

Samsung Galaxy SIV Has A Wide Range Of Incredible Sensors

Samsung Galaxy SIV has lot of incredible sensors built within it. They make the device a companion for your life like they say in ads. Samsung has released info about these hidden sensors of S4. They are;

  • Gesture Sensor: This sensors detects users hand movement using Infra red rays.Just by waving hand across the screen lets you change the music, attend a call and lot's more.
  • The Proximity Sensor, which operates within the Direct Call feature, recognizes whether the mobile phone is located near the user by using infrared rays. Direct Call allows users call a contact by lifting their handset to their ear while reading or constructing a message from that contact.
  • The RGB Light Sensor, which operates within the Samsung Adapt Display feature, measures the red, green, blue and white intensity of the light source. Adapt Display adjusts brightness, saturation and contrast according to how the user is doing on their handset.
  • The Temperature / Humidity Sensor, which operates within the S Health: Comfort Level feature, checks temperature and humidity levels. Comfort level uses temperature and humidity measurements to assess the user’s overall level of comfort.
  • The Barometer, which operates within the S Health: Walking Mate feature, identifies the atmospheric pressure at the user’s current location.
  • The Hall Sensor, which operates according the S View Cover accessory, recognizes whether the cover is open or closed. With the S View Cover, users can still view the time and date, missed calls, new emails and messages or current song (on Samsung Music Player) while the cover is still closed. Users can also accept or reject calls without having to open the cover.
  • The Geomagnetic Sensor, which operates within the Digital Compass MAP feature, detects magnetic field intensity based on three axes. Digital Compass MAP is exactly that, a digital compass on the Galaxy S4 handset.
  • The Accelerometer, which operates within the S Health: Walking Mate feature, detects the mobile phone movement state based on three axes. S Health is comprised of several features that allow users to track and manage their health though their Galaxy S4 handset, such as Walking Mate, which counts user’s steps and also allows them to track the calories they burn while walking.
  • The Gyro Sensor, which operates within the Smart Rotation feature, detects the mobile phone rotation state based on three axes. Smart Rotation adjusts the users screen according to their angle of sight.

There you go. S4 has a wide range of awesome sensors that will surely be helpful one way or another. But overall Samsung has done a very good job integrating these sensors. Surely "The Companion in life- Samsung Galaxy S4"
